Started the week in beautiful Saint Paul de Vence. Different type of nature to what people usually think of South of France as which is refreshing, and the art culture this place provides is pretty amazing.
Dinner at the famous La Colombe d’or; the scenery is nice, but I think the food could have been better knowing how historic the place is. Call me picky, I said what I said.
Back to Zurich, back to the routine. I love my routine based life and after the auction weekend, I was very happy to be back. Plus, you can’t beat a good weathered Zurich. With more auction weekends coming soon, I am cherishing this time, recharge and back on the road for more.
My friend Mr.Tasti Tondi aka Edoardo's beautiful Alfa. What a sweet ride this thing.
Weapon of my choice for the week was the Calatrava ref.3445 in white gold; with baguette indexes at 12,6,9 o'clock. Personally, Calatravas from 40s-60s are some of the best Calatravas Patek has produced, including this 3445 which is Patek's first automatic caliber with date function.
Overall, I feel like there is a good momentum on my side. Some good deals here and there, learning a lot everyday and I am thankful for all the experiences, the good and the bad. I hope to continue to build from this momentum, and gain more experience and become more well rounded in every aspect. I never want to categorise myself as just a dealer or just a watch guy. Although this is who I am and what I do at this current moment, I want to gain this experience of watches, grow, learn, and hopefully in the future I can pivot around with the knowledge and experience I am gaining through this chapter of my life.
One thing I want to mention: there is a book that I am reading called “Effortless” by Greg Mckeown, and he states “When you focus on what you lack, you lose what you have. When you focus on what you have, you get what you lack”. This got me thinking a little in many different perspectives.
Overall, another good week, hope to see what’s next to come. Set small goals, knocked them off, time to set more.
