Patek Philippe Calatrava ref.3417 "Amagnetic"

CHF 62,000.00

The Patek Philippe 3417 "Amagnetic" is one of the most discreet yet historically significant tool watches ever made by the brand. First Introduced in 1958, it was designed specifically for scientists, engineers, and professionals working in environments with high magnetic fields. Its extremely beautiful, “Amagnetic” font on the dial derives from its soft iron inner cage and anti-magnetic Cal. 27-AM 400 movement, making it resistant to magnetic interference.

Unlike most Patek Philippe Calatravas of the era, the 3417 was produced in Stainless Steel case only, leaning more towards that tool watch concept. The case is robust yet elegant, with rather long, straight lugs and a screw-down caseback making the watch resistant to humidity. This just may be the most elegant "Tool" watch from the 20th century, if not ever.
