Through the Lens #19 Asia Tour

Through the Lens #19 Asia Tour

Another week, another pics. Busy couple weeks between Hong Kong and Singapore. Tried my best to capture a couple moments. Being Asian, but growing up in Europe for the majority of my life, I have to admit my ignorance and unfamiliarity of my home continent, which is part of the reason why I wanted to make this HK and SG trip, and I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting the watch community in Asia. It was great to see some people I have only known online, as well as some new people. What stood out the most was the contrast in interaction between Europeans and Asians. The past couple weeks have really allowed me to realise the more reserved, I say  eastern culture of Asia, where I was more used to people in Europe who are more open, outspoken, I say more liberal as well. Both cultures have their pros and cons I believe, and I am extremely grateful to have both cultures embedded in my life.

Managed to pick up a few watches along the way as well, like this Piaget Emperador in Jade dial. I never thought I would be someone who would like these kinds of watches as I am a big fan of classical dress watches, but the removable link “bark” type finished bracelet, pairing with the clean jade stone dial, I had to bring it home.

One watch I wore the most throughout this trip was this Breguet classique tourbillon ref.3357. I have owned the 3355 which is basically 3350/7s on steroid which I loved, but this 3357 has more traditional dress watch look due to the guilloche dial, and the movement is just an eye pleasing thing to see and waste time on.

Overall, another good week off the book. A little more hectic than I would’ve hoped for, but thankful for all the experiences. Set small goals, knocked them off. Time to set more
